Art Farm Birchs Bay Sculpture Trail now open

Thursday night was the artists opening of Art Farm Birchs Bay Sculpture Trail. In its 10th year this is a fantastic event with 34 sculptures on display throughout the farm. There are several awards on offer including the People's Choice award so get on down there and take a look and don't forget to vote.

Its a beautiful walk through the bush. Take  a picnic and enjoy. My work is close to the top of the hill so I hope its worth the effort!

2nd Prize for Flower Girl Mosaic

March 17th saw the opening of the first Maanz (Mosaic Association of Australia & New Zealand) exhibition in Tasmania at the Kingston Arts Hub. I entered two pieces "Flower Girl" and "Beatrice, oh...Beatrice!" It was a fantastic exhibition with a huge variety of works.

"Flower Girl" was awarded Second Prize! Here I am pictured with Rachel Bremner who was awarded First Prize for her piece "On the Inside."

"Flower Girl" was also awarded the People's Choice award. To my surprise the prize was a beautiful mosaic pendant by Rachel Bremner!

I am very excited as one of my artworks is now on public display. Commissioned by the amazing Michael Wiss from Pop Café in Collins St Hobart, my original drawing "All roads lead to Pop Cafe" was blown up to 1.2m x 2.4m, printed on plywood and mounted on the wall for all to see.

It was serendipitous that Mike and I met and over the past few months we have worked together on transforming the look of Pop Café. Though still a work in progress, the new contemporary colour scheme and upgrading of some existing features have  transformed the space.

If you get a chance, pop in, take a look, relax, have a coffee and a bite to eat!

Return of the Goddess!

Well, finally...I am back! Funny how life gets in the way sometimes and we get somewhat diverted from what we love to do. But I haven't been idle, I always seem to have something on the go and lately I have been especially busy and inspired. But you will have to stay tuned to see whats coming up!

We have moved to Hobart and bought a new house. Built in 1959 it has only had one owner. It has some fantastic original features in it. Thankfully, the renovation job on this one is no where near as extensive as our last one! With only two days till its ours , we are so excited. As soon as we get the keys we are into the sanding straight away.

In the meantime....I have attached this photo as I just love the colour! Look at that little hint of red, my favourite.  I know its not spring, (in fact its pretty cold here today) But this is what we need when its cold...colour!

Opening of Cobweb Designs in Cygnet

A new gallery, Cobweb Designs, opened in the Main Street of Cygnet on the 21st June. It was a much celebrated affair with the owners Michelle, Susan and Alysia putting a lovely night of food, beautiful music and great company.

I am lucky enough to have a very large glass cabinet for my work where I can display the whole jewellery range!

A Good Way To Vamp Up Your Wardrobe?

If with the changing of the seasons you are looking at your wardrobe and feeling that it is all a bit boring...look no further! I have been very busy of late, creating a range of exclusive jewellery for that very reason. No need to be boring ever again!

All the jewellry is designed and made by me. Developed mainly, from a range of my original drawings and designs,it incorporates many techniques including handpainting. All the earring findings and clasps are sterling silver.

Each individual piece can be worn on plain colours for a more elegant, yet vibrant look or you can wear them with all your funky gear to make a real statement. Play around. Wear the brooches like big buttons or as a scarf pin or put them on your coats and hats for an individual look.

The necklaces can be worn over polo necks or with a plunging neckline. Elegant or casual, the choice is yours! Most necklaces come with matching earrings to make the perfect set.

Currently there are 16 styles in brooches and 24 styles of necklaces with each piece being unique in it's own right. I will let you know where they will be available soon.

Here is just a sneak preview of the range. So, stayed tuned!
